Mentoring

I offer informal but purposeful sessions with people asking questions about their working lives, and what they want in the future. I accompany people as they try to put that into practice, usually offering a fixed number of sessions but including in the fee contact between our meetings and wider support during a time of transition.

I include:

sharing my experience

reflection on what I observe about how you think, process things and describe yourself

looking at cvs

preparing for interviews

support for interim chief executives.

Here’s what some other people I’ve worked with have said:

The meeting has given me a burst of energy to listen to myself again in terms of what I want to do in my professional life. Thank you for that! I will be definitely plotting changes :)  (Early 30s, not-for-profit sector, needing to change direction)

When I met Sophie, I was keen to explore new professional opportunities, but was struggling with which direction to take. Sophie helped me to package my skills and experience in a new way, and broadened my view on potential career options.  My confidence was immeasurably boosted after just one session with Sophie, and as a result I have recently secured employment in an exciting and growing organisation. (Professional who had had some interview setbacks and needed a new role urgently)

Sophie helped me sort through my professional experience to highlight my most relevant qualifications and achievements. Her advice allowed me to approach the application process from an employers perspective, so that I could match my experience to their needs. This helped me immensely in preparing job applications, as well forming organized responses during interviews. (USA professional applying for a new role)
